Barking Bon Voyage
Dogs on deck in lines so neat,
Barking at the sailors’ feet,
Life aboard this great sea cruise,
Sniffing up that salty bruise.
Savoring the fresh sea spritz,
In Shih Tzu fur, it fairly blitz.
Poodles prance about in style,
While Mastiffs doze the long sea mile.
Labs chase bubbles in the pool,
Dachshunds, they’re feeling awfully cool,
In floaties made for tiny toes,
Catching Frisbees, heaven knows!
A Saint Bernard on the high dive,
Wonders how he’ll survive,
Plunging down, a cannonball,
Then shaking droplets on us all.
Sea gulls heckle from the air,
Causing Boxers quite a scare,
They bark back with such loud might,
Scaring off those gulls in flight.
Smelling fish n’ chips from far,
Trailing mess from the buffet bar.
Tails wagging at the sight,
Of well-dressed dinners every night.
The lifeboat drill, a funny thing,
As Chihuahuas start to sing.
Beagles howling, Skipper’s bark,
All aboard this seafaring Ark.
Look! A dolphin leaps so high!
And terriers meet it with a cry,
Running laps around the deck,
There’s never a dull moment, heck!
Ports of call, they’re quite a treat,
New scents and dogs for them to meet,
But soon again, we’re back at sea,
My canine mates and windy me.
Evenings bring the starlit dance,
Spaniels twirl in sweet romance.
Moonlight on the moving tide,
Reflects the joy we can’t hide.
An on-deck poop, it’s no big deal,
There’s a crew with buckets and zeal,
Clean it up and then move on,
More fun till the break of dawn.
Barking Bon Voyage, we say,
As we sail on far away.
From a dog’s view, cruises are,
Full of adventures both near and far.
