Lily and the Rainbow Bridge
In gardens rich where English Creams lay play,
A golden beauty, bound by love’s decree.
A heart now stilled, our Lily’s gone away,
Her spirit freed, across the vast, cool sea.
She bounds now over the Rainbow Bridge, so grand,
Returning to her sister, Daisy fair.
In meadows green, in that unseen land,
Reunited, they chase the lightness of the air.
Her laughter’s gone, her tail no more will wag,
Her golden light dimmed, leaving just the night.
And in her absence, our hearts tend to sag,
Yet memories of Lily bring back the light.
Lost we feel, without their trinity,
Longing for Merlin’s chocolate loyalty.
Yet heartstrings echo with past unity,
Faith insists on eventual serenity.
We weep, we grieve, the loss feels much too large,
Yet Lily plays, with Daisy and Merlin, at the Rainbow’s margin.
